Here's a really nice Sharps Carbine that remains in original percussion configuration. This example shows about 60% original color case hardened finish remaining on the frame with some areas being brighter. The barrel shows little remaining blue except for in protected areas. I don't think this carbine was stored to well over its lifetime. The wood is very good condition. No cartocuhes are visible. Matching serial number is found on the barrel. The wood has the name "F.A. McKee" stamped. I have not tried to do research to figure out who he was. Action works well. The buttplate shows strong traces of the color case hardened finish also. You don't find to many of these with case hardening in percussion configuration
