Original Civil War US Cavalry Officers Slouch Hat. This example remains in good condition and shows very well. There’s an older repair that I’ve photographed and shown. The interior lining appears to be a period addition. The original bullion Cavalry Insignia is in excellent condition. Good and black cords with acorns in excellent condition. This is an excellent example of an original. Heritage Auctions sold a nearly identical example back in 2021 for $7,500. Here’s a very nice example of a comparable at a very fair price!
