Civil War 1/6 Ambrotype of a Confederate soldier that we believe it to be identified to John Allison of the 24th Texas Cavalry. We have done numerous research and when comparing the uniqueness of the uniform to the few other possibilities of ID (both federal and Confederate), this is the only one that makes sense. I have asked a few uniform experts on this particular example and not one had an answer. The clarity of this image is excellent and the jacket has a great color to it. The large hat he is posed with certainly adds to the uniqueness. Housed in a half leatherette case.
